Abstract

This study discusses the contribution of English Conversation Club (ECC) to the development of students' English skills in the era of globalization, where language skills are in great demand. The purpose of this study is to explore the role of ECC in improving students' speaking skills. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), by reviewing various studies related to ECC and English development. The results of the study indicate that ECC has a positive impact on students' speaking fluency, self-confidence, and motivation in using English. In addition, the quality of the facilitator and the frequency of ECC activities are important factors in its effectiveness. The contribution of this study is to provide insight into the importance of integrating ECC into the curriculum to support the Merdeka Belajar policy.

Penelitian ini membahas kontribusi English Conversation Club (ECC) terhadap pengembangan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris siswa di era globalisasi, di mana keterampilan bahasa sangat dibutuhkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi peran ECC dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR), dengan menelaah berbagai studi terkait ECC dan pengembangan Bahasa Inggris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ECC memberikan dampak positif terhadap kelancaran berbicara, kepercayaan diri, dan motivasi siswa dalam menggunakan Bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, kualitas fasilitator dan frekuensi kegiatan ECC menjadi faktor penting dalam efektivitasnya. Kontribusi penelitian ini adalah memberikan wawasan tentang pentingnya pengintegrasian ECC dalam kurikulum untuk mendukung kebijakan Merdeka Belajar.
