Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of eco-enzymes as a practical learning method in improving the understanding of students at SMP Yos Sudarso Sidoarjo regarding organic waste management in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program. The research methods used include interviews, and direct observation of students and teachers regarding their responses and understanding. The results of the study indicate that the eco-enzyme making activity significantly increases environmental awareness and students' skills in managing waste. The contribution of this study is to the introduction of practical methods that can be applied in schools to support environmental-based learning. These findings are expected to be a model for the implementation of sustainable environmental learning in other educational institutions.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pemanfaatan eco-enzyme sebagai metode pembelajaran praktis dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa SMP Yos Sudarso Sidoarjo terkait pengelolaan sampah organik dalam program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi wawancara, dan pengamatan langsung kepada siswa dan guru terkait respons serta pemahaman mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pembuatan eco-enzyme secara signifikan meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan dan keterampilan siswa dalam mengelola sampah. Kontribusi penelitian ini pada pengenalan metode praktis yang dapat diterapkan di sekolah untuk mendukung pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan. Temuan ini diharapkan menjadi model bagi penerapan pembelajaran lingkungan berkelanjutan di institusi pendidikan lainnya.
