Abstract

Family is forming or building a relationship in it with other people who will later form new and good quality individuals. In the Islamic approach, family is the main base that supports the building of Islamic community and society, so that families get significant attention and care from Al- Qur'an (Al-Jauhari, 2005: 3). Social emotional disturbances such as slow learning, not being able to build friendships, being depressed about something and mood swings in early childhood in the millennial era often occur even though early childhood is a happy time. This research wants to find out how social emotional development strategies are developed in the nuclear family, so that children will learn to understand themselves, engage with others, empathize and how to deal with conflict. The research method is a descriptive study. Data collection techniques using observation and interviews. Qualitative descriptive data analysis. The results of the research are that in the realization of sakinah family counseling with the theory of reality, the counseling process can not only be applied by a counselor but can also be applied by people for their families as long as the problems encountered are not too complicated and can still be overcome by themselves.
