Publication Ethics
This statement of scientific publication ethics is compiled based on COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), which is a statement of publication ethics that applies to all parties involved, namely editors, reviewers, and authors. The Code of Ethics for scientific publications upholds three ethical values in publication, namely (1) Neutrality, free from conflicts of interest in managing publications, (2) Justice, namely granting authorship rights to those entitled as authors; and (3) Honesty, namely free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publication.
Publisher's Responsibilities
- The Journal of Research and Technology is responsible for publishing manuscripts after going through a review, editing, and layout process following the rules of scientific journal publishing.
- The publisher of the Journal of Research and Technology is responsible for guaranteeing academic freedom for editors and peer reviewers in carrying out their respective duties.
- The publisher of the Journal of Research and Technology is responsible for maintaining the privacy and protecting intellectual property copyright, and editorial freedom.
Editor's Responsibilities
- The editor of the Journal of Research and Technology is responsible for deciding which manuscripts are worthy of publication through an editorial board meeting by referring to applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
- In the process of reviewing and accepting manuscripts, the editorial team of the Journal of Research and Technology is based on the principle of equal treatment in making decisions to publish manuscripts without distinguishing between race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political ideology of the author.
- The editor and editorial team of the Journal of Research and Technology will not disclose any information about the manuscript or manuscripts submitted except with the permission of the author.
- Unpublished manuscripts will not be used by the research editor of the Journal of Research and Technology for his interests and will be returned directly to the author.
Reviewer's Responsibilities
- Provide objective and unbiased written feedback on the scientific value and contribution of the manuscript to the development of science;
- Show whether the writing of the manuscript is clear, complete, and relevant and whether the manuscript is following the scope of the journal;
- Do not provide personal criticism or comments; and maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript, by not discussing it with unrelated parties, or disclosing information contained in the manuscript to other parties.
Author's Responsibilities
- The author must present the manuscript of his/her thoughts or research clearly, honestly, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, or plagiarism.
- The author is responsible for the confirmation submitted for the manuscript that has been written.
- The author must show references from the opinions and works of others that are quoted.
- The author must write the manuscript ethically, honestly, and responsibly, according to applicable scientific writing regulations.
- The author does not mind if the manuscript is edited during the review and layout process without changing the substance or main idea of the writing.
