Abstract

The surrounding environment has a significant impact on students' interest in learning science, both directly and indirectly. This article examines the crucial role of the environment as a learning resource that can enhance student engagement and learning outcomes in science. Previous studies show that utilizing environmental media, such as the natural surroundings and supportive educational facilities, can create more contextual and engaging learning experiences. Several factors, including the quality of teaching, parental involvement, and the physical conditions of the environment, contribute to shaping students' interest in science. In this context, environmental-based education not only focuses on improving science skills but also on developing students' character, fostering awareness of environmental issues. Through an integrated approach and a flexible curriculum, it is hoped that science education can become more relevant and enjoyable, while enhancing students' understanding of scientific concepts. This article concludes that to optimize students' interest in learning science, it is essential to create an environment that supports and enriches their learning experiences, involving all elements of education in the process.
