The Editorial Team may adjust the article classification where necessary.
4. Required Submission Files
Authors must upload the following four files during the initial submission:
4.1 Cover Letter
A Cover Letter is required to facilitate the initial editorial screening.
Authors must use the official JIKDISKOMVIS Cover Letter Form.
The Cover Letter should include:
- manuscript title;
- article type;
- selected journal scope;
- main topic or keywords;
- a brief statement of the manuscript's novelty or main contribution;
- a brief explanation of its relevance to JIKDISKOMVIS;
- confirmation of originality and exclusive submission;
- confirmation that all authors have approved the submission; and
- corresponding author information.
The Cover Letter should be concise and normally limited to one page.
4.2 Anonymous Manuscript
Authors must upload an anonymized manuscript for the double-blind peer-review process.
The Anonymous Manuscript must not contain information that may identify the author(s), including:
- author names;
- institutional affiliations;
- email addresses;
- ORCID iDs;
- acknowledgements that reveal author identity; and
- other directly identifying information.
Authors are also encouraged to remove identifying information from the document properties and metadata.

Anonymous_Manuscript.docx
4.3 Manuscript with Author Information
Authors must upload a complete version of the manuscript containing:
- full names of all authors;
- institutional affiliations;
- email addresses;
- ORCID iDs, where available;
- designation of the corresponding author; and
- acknowledgement and funding information, where applicable.
Suggested file name:
Manuscript_With_Authors.docx
4.4 Author Declaration Form
Authors must complete and upload the official JIKDISKOMVIS Author Declaration Form.
The form contains five declarations:
- Author Contributions
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Declaration
- Conflict of Interest
- Funding
- Research Ethics and Informed Consent
The corresponding author submits the form on behalf of all authors and confirms that the information has been reviewed and approved by all listed authors.
5. Manuscript Length and Format
The manuscript should contain 4,000–7,000 words, excluding:
- abstract;
- references;
- tables;
- figure captions;
- acknowledgements; and
- declarations.
This replaces a page-based limitation so that manuscripts containing figures, tables, diagrams, or visual materials are not disadvantaged.
Manuscripts must:
- use A4 paper size;
- use the formatting provided in the official JIKDISKOMVIS template;
- use justified paragraph alignment;
- use 1.5 line spacing where specified in the template; and
- be submitted in an editable Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
The current JIKDISKOMVIS template already specifies the 4,000–7,000-word requirement and .docx submission through OJS.
6. Title
The title should be concise, informative, and accurately represent the content of the manuscript.
Maximum length:
- 12 words for an Indonesian title
- 10 words for an English title
The current manuscript template uses these limits. Template_JIKDISKOMVIS_UNUSIDA_2…
Avoid unnecessary abbreviations, overly general expressions, and information that does not contribute to the identification of the study.
7. Author Information
The version submitted as Manuscript with Author Information must include complete information for all authors.
At least the following should be provided:
- full name;
- institutional affiliation;
- email address; and
- ORCID iD, where available.
One author must be identified as the corresponding author.
The same information must be removed from the Anonymous Manuscript.
8. Abstract
The manuscript must include an abstract in accordance with the language requirements of the article.
The abstract must not exceed 250 words.
It should briefly and clearly present:
- research background or problem;
- research objective;
- method or approach;
- main findings; and
- principal conclusion or implication.
The abstract should be self-contained and should normally not contain citations.
The 250-word limit has also been incorporated into the current JIKDISKOMVIS template.
9. Keywords
Authors must provide 3–5 keywords representing the main concepts of the manuscript.
Keywords should be specific, relevant, and separated by commas.
10. Manuscript Structure
Research manuscripts should generally contain the following sections.
1. Introduction
The Introduction should explain:
- research background;
- research problem;
- relevant previous studies;
- research gap;
- significance or novelty of the study; and
- research objective(s) or research question(s).
The Introduction should clearly position the study within existing scholarship.
2. Research Method
The Research Method section should provide sufficient information about how the research was conducted.
Where applicable, it should include:
- research design or approach;
- population, sample, participants, or research objects;
- sampling procedures;
- data sources;
- data collection procedures;
- research instruments;
- data analysis procedures; and
- relevant ethical procedures.
3. Results and Discussion
The Results and Discussion should:
- present the principal findings;
- answer the research objectives or questions;
- interpret the findings;
- relate the findings to previous research;
- explain similarities or differences from existing knowledge; and
- discuss theoretical and/or practical implications.
Tables, figures, diagrams, or other visual materials may be used where they improve clarity.
4. Conclusion
The Conclusion should summarize the principal findings and directly address the objectives of the study.
It should also explain the main contribution or implication of the research.
Limitations and directions for future research may be included where relevant.
5. Recommendations
Recommendations may be included where appropriate and should be directly supported by the findings.
11. Tables and Figures
Tables and figures must:
- be numbered consecutively;
- be cited in the manuscript;
- have clear captions;
- be readable and appropriately positioned; and
- contain sufficient resolution for publication.
Images should preferably have a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted visual materials where required.
12. Equations and Programming Code
Mathematical equations should be prepared using an equation editor such as Microsoft Equation Editor or MathType.
Equations should not be inserted as screenshots or low-resolution images.
Programming code included in the manuscript must be clearly formatted and readable.
13. References and Citations
All sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and all sources listed in the references must be cited in the manuscript.
JIKDISKOMVIS uses APA Style.
Authors are encouraged to use reference-management software such as:
- Mendeley; or
- Zotero.
The manuscript should contain at least 10 relevant references, prioritizing primary, recent, and authoritative scholarly sources.
The current template specifies prioritization of references from approximately the most recent nine years, while allowing older classical or seminal works where necessary.
Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all bibliographic information and DOI information where available.
14. Acknowledgements
Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship.
Acknowledgements should be concise.
Financial support should also be formally reported under the Funding declaration.
15. Author Contributions
The contribution of each author must be stated transparently.
JIKDISKOMVIS recommends the use of the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy), which may include:
- Conceptualization;
- Methodology;
- Software;
- Validation;
- Formal Analysis;
- Investigation;
- Resources;
- Data Curation;
- Writing – Original Draft;
- Writing – Review & Editing;
- Visualization;
- Supervision;
- Project Administration; and
- Funding Acquisition.
Example:
Author Contributions: Author A: Conceptualization, Methodology, Investigation, Writing – Original Draft. Author B: Data Curation, Formal Analysis, Writing – Review & Editing. Author C: Supervision, Validation.
The current manuscript template already requires transparent author-contribution reporting using CRediT terminology.
16. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Declaration
Authors must disclose whether generative artificial intelligence or AI-assisted technologies were used in preparing the manuscript.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
If AI was used, authors should identify:
- the AI tool;
- the purpose of its use; and
- where appropriate, the part of the manuscript or research process in which it was used.
Authors remain fully responsible for:
- accuracy;
- originality;
- research integrity;
- citations and references;
- interpretation; and
- final manuscript content.
Example where AI was not used:
AI Use Declaration: The authors declare that no generative artificial intelligence tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.
The existing template similarly places responsibility for AI-assisted outputs on the authors.
17. Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research, interpretation of the results, or publication of the manuscript.
If no conflict exists:
Conflict of Interest: The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest regarding the research, authorship, and publication of this article.
Potential conflicts should be described transparently.
18. Funding
Authors must disclose all financial support received for the research and/or publication.
Where applicable, provide:
- funding organization;
- grant or contract number; and
- relevant funding information.
If no specific funding was received:
Funding: The authors received no specific funding for this research.
The manuscript template already requires the funding source and grant/contract number where available.
19. Research Ethics and Informed Consent
Authors must disclose ethical considerations relevant to their research.
Research involving human participants
Where the study involves human participants, respondents, informants, interviewees, users, or other individuals, authors should describe the applicable informed consent procedure.
Depending on the nature of the study, consent may be documented in an appropriate form consistent with the research design and applicable ethical requirements.
Ethical approval
Formal ethical approval is not a universal requirement for all manuscripts submitted to JIKDISKOMVIS.
Ethical approval should be reported where applicable or where required by the relevant institution, research setting, discipline, funding body, or applicable regulation.
If ethical approval was obtained, authors should provide, where available:
- name of the ethics committee or approving institution; and
- approval/reference number.
If formal ethical approval was not required, authors may state this where relevant.
This follows the current template, which specifies that ethical approval should be reported where the study has obtained it or where such approval is required.
Therefore:
Ethics declaration is required where relevant; formal ethical clearance is required only where applicable.
20. Declaration Sections in the Final Manuscript
The following declarations must appear near the end of the final manuscript, before the References:
AUTHOR CONTRIBUTIONS
[Provide the contribution of each author.]
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) USE
[Declare AI use or state that no generative AI was used.]
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
[Disclose relevant conflicts or state that none exist.]
FUNDING
[Provide funding information or state that no specific funding was received.]
RESEARCH ETHICS AND INFORMED CONSENT
[Provide relevant ethics and participant-consent information. If not applicable, state “Not applicable.”]
These are the same five declarations required in the Author Declaration Form.
21. Initial Editorial Screening
Before peer review, the Editorial Team may assess:
- compliance with the journal's focus and scope;
- article type;
- manuscript completeness;
- compliance with the manuscript template;
- originality and publication status;
- clarity of the manuscript's contribution;
- completeness of required submission files;
- anonymization of the Anonymous Manuscript;
- author information;
- declarations;
- research ethics information, where relevant; and
- overall suitability for peer review.
The Cover Letter is used to assist this initial screening.
Submission of all required documents does not automatically guarantee that a manuscript will proceed to peer review.
22. Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening will proceed to the journal's peer-review process.
JIKDISKOMVIS uses a double-blind peer-review process. Therefore, authors must ensure that the Anonymous Manuscript does not reveal author identity. The current template explicitly identifies the anonymous version as the file used for double-blind review.
