PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI MATEMATIS SISWA SMP MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN BUKU SISWA ML+3Cs

Abstract


This research was motivated by the low results of PISA and TIMSS Indonesian students which contradicted their learning motivation. For this reason, the ML + 3Cs Student Book was developed which prioritizes ML + 3Cs (Mathematics Literacy, Content, Context and Competencies) with the aim of using the student's book in mathematics learning to improve the mathematical literacy skills of junior high school students. So the purpose of this study is (1) to find out the mathematical literacy skills of junior high school students before and after the use of student books ML + 3Cs. (2) To know whether or not there is an increase in the ability of mathematical literacy of junior high school students after using ML + 3Cs book. This study uses a quantitative research approach with subjects of class VII MTsN 8 Kediri and SMP PGRI 4 Kediri as many as 58 students. The two paired sample t-test technique was used to analyze the improvement of mathematical literacy skills of junior high school students after the use of ML + 3Cs student books. Data collection techniques use written tests of mathematical literacy. Data were analyzed with the help of SPSS 21 for Windows. The results showed an increase in mathematical literacy skills of junior high school students after the use of ML + 3Cs student books with a significance value of 0.00 <5% with t count = -5.23> -t0.05. So the use of ML + 3Cs student book can improve the ability of mathematical literacy ability of junior high school students.
